Rama was found walking along the ground. He did not have the energy and up and go that a big male koala should so was picked up by some concerned people. He comes from Kingsvale Rd, Myocum where there are several locals who are dedicated in looking after their wild koalas.

Local Friends of the Koala member Wendy Reynolds was called so Rama could be brought into care. Weighing in at 7.1kg he was not in as good condition as he should be and was suffering from cystitis. Medications were commenced after a full vet assessment. Slight complications arose when a funal infection was also diagnosed but this has since been successfully treated.

Rama is going well and is on the road to recovery from the cystitis infection. His body condition has improved and he has gained weight. He loves the supplement of paste he is given daily as well as all that fresh leaf.
