Pimms came into care with Friends of the Koala after being found on a verandah eating dog food. This is NOT normal behaviour for a koala. He was only just over 1kg so should have still been with his mother yet there was no sign of her.

A full vet assessment showed no obvious injuries so he was placed in home care with an experience carer. Pimms was paired up with other koalas of a similar size. Koalas are always hand raised in pairs or small groups to prevent them being humanised and they do much better in care with a buddy of their own size and species. Pimms is friends with Georgina, Mothball, Cadel, Luigi and Honey.

Pimms absolutely loves his bottle and a video of him drinking has been uploaded to Youtube. A search on Pimms the koala will find it.Pimms will be in care several months before he is old enough to survive in the wild on his own.
