Georgina

GeorginaGeorgina was found lying on the ground cold and alone. Weighing in at less than 1kg she should have still been on her mothers back and would have been dependent on her mother for milk.

A veterinary checkup showed she was so cold her temperature did not register on a thermometer. She also had pneumonia.
Georgina was placed into care with a Friends of the Koala home carer who has extensive experience in hand raising koala infants. She was paired up with other koalas of her size for company and to ensure they learn the normal behaviours of a wild koala. It did not take her long to recover from her initial illness and she settled into care well.

Georgina will be in care for approximately eight months before being released back into the wild. The care she receives will ensure she has the best possible chance of survival.
