Become a volunteer

Friends of the Koala volunteers working hardPeople are our greatest resource.

Volunteering in the Friends of the Koala Care Centre may mean a commitment of as little as two hours a week to assist with the care and rehabilitation of koalas.

Volunteers also collect leaf, fund raise, home care for koalas, conduct educational talks, maintain the nursery, lobby local Councils and complete necessary administrative tasks.

Training sessions are held to assist volunteers and are a requirement for anyone wishing to be involved with hands on care of the koalas.

Volunteers are expected to agree to abide by the Rules and Codes of Conduct of Friends of the Koala. This sounds a bit strict, but is all for the benefit of the koalas and in return it is well worth it for the experience of being so close to these special animals.

Most equipment, apart from a good set of boots, is provided by Friends of the Koala as well as a great team spirit with lots of support and friendly faces.
