This course is an introduction to Friends of the Koala and its conservation effort, focussing in particular on koala rescue and rehabilitation. It is aimed at those who have no prior training or who would like a refresher in the basics of koala assessment, rescue and how Friends of the Koala operates.

A must for anyone who is already working in the Koala Care Centre or is keen to start and would like to know more about what is involved. The program will cover standard procedures required for the care of the Koalas and routine procedures that help the Koala Care Centre to operate smoothly and effectively.

Dr Phillips is an independent scientist with the NSW Koala Recovery Team and principal of Biolink Pty Ltd, Ecological Consultants. He has over 35 years of experience with koalas and is an internationally acknowledged authority on the ecology, conservation and management of the species. The workshop will be based on Steve's current work in NSW, Queensland and Victoria, with an emphasis on projects in the Northern Rivers (including Skyline Road and its koalas).
