Christopher

Christopher - koala with conjunctivitis needing careChristopher - koala with conjunctivitis needing careChristopher came into care early March as a 5.8kg male with conjunctivitis. He was seen wandering on the ground with his eyes crusty and difficult to open. The person who spotted him knew something was wrong so managed to contain him and take him to a vet in Byron Bay. The vet called us and he was taken to the Care Centre.

He comes from Grays Lane, Tyagarah where we often get calls for koalas.

Christopher has responded very well to treatments and is now totally free of conjunctivitis. He is now able to see again which will make it much easier for him to find food. He also grew while in care putting on around a kilo more than when he was first weighed.

Christopher has since been released back to the wild however we have had several sightings of a koala in that area with an ear tag so we are hoping it is Christopher.
